About Trainer

A lighter, simpler starting point for dogs and humans learning the backpack-carrier routine. The Trainer keeps the setup approachable for shorter, low-intensity outings, with straightforward back-length sizing and a lightweight design that works especially well for puppies and smaller dogs.
Built as an entry-level K9 Sport Sack, Trainer is designed for walks, commuting, brief hikes, and other non-strenuous activities. The carrier is available from X-Small through Large based on back length, while the wearer fit is intended to be most comfortable on people with small to medium builds.
Despite the name, this is a carrier for teaching comfortable carrier habits, not an obedience-training device. The real training is mostly convincing your dog that being zipped into a backpack is somehow part of the itinerary.

Key Features:
- Lightweight entry-level dog carrier backpack
- Designed for puppies and smaller dogs according to the manufacturer
- Intended for shorter, non-strenuous outings
- Back-length sizing from 9 to 22 inches
- Most comfortable on wearers with small to medium builds
- Available in Greenery, Harbor Blue, and Iron Gate

Best For:
- First-time backpack-carrier users
- Puppies learning to ride calmly in a carrier
- Short neighborhood walks
- Commuting and public transit
- Brief, low-intensity hikes and outings

Sizing:
X-Small
- Back length: 9 to 12 inches
Small
- Back length: 13 to 16 inches
Medium
- Back length: 17 to 19 inches
Large
- Back length: 20 to 22 inches

How to Measure:
- Have your dog stand naturally on a level surface
- Measure along the back from the collar area at the base of the neck to the base of the tail
- Select size using the actual measurement rather than breed name or age alone
- Recheck puppies frequently because growth can change fit quickly

How to Use:
- Begin with short indoor introduction sessions
- Reward calm investigation and gradually increase time in the carrier
- Load and unload your dog on a stable surface
- Secure all support points and adjust the shoulder straps before moving
- Check posture, breathing, and comfort throughout the outing

Fit Notes:
- Your dog should sit securely without excessive compression, sagging, or forced stretching
- Wearer comfort may vary by body size because Trainer is designed primarily for small to medium builds
- Recheck fit frequently for growing puppies
- Stop using a size once your dog no longer fits within the listed back-length range

Activity Notes:
- Designed for shorter, non-strenuous activities
- Avoid running, cycling, skating, climbing, jumping, or other high-impact or fall-risk activities
- Give puppies and inexperienced dogs frequent breaks while acclimating to carrier use

Safety Notes:
- Always supervise your dog while using the carrier
- Inspect fabric, seams, straps, buckles, and support points before each use
- Discontinue use if any securing component becomes loose, torn, or damaged
- Never leave your dog unattended inside the carrier
- This carrier should not be treated as a crash-tested vehicle restraint unless specifically certified for that purpose
- Consult your veterinarian before carrier use for very young puppies or dogs with breathing, mobility, pain, anxiety, or other medical concerns
