About Get Started Kit - Fire

Turn familiar routines into opportunities for clearer communication with the FluentPet Get Started Kit in Fire.
This beginner-friendly system includes six Speak Up! recordable buttons, three interlocking HexTiles, 35 ideogram stickers, and pre-installed batteries. Record words in your own voice, organize the buttons by concept, and model each word consistently during everyday activities such as meals, playtime, going outside, or asking for help.
The compact buttons are designed to activate with light pressure, making them accessible to cats, smaller dogs, and larger learners. Each textured HexTile helps keep buttons from sliding while creating an expandable layout that can grow alongside your pet’s vocabulary.

What is included:
- 6 FluentPet Speak Up! recordable sound buttons
- 3 FluentPet HexTiles in red, orange, and purple
- 35 ideogram stickers
- 18 pre-installed batteries
- FluentPet starter guide
- Training and community support access

Best for:
- Dogs and cats beginning button training
- Pet parents exploring enrichment and choice-based communication
- Introducing words connected to predictable routines
- Organizing related vocabulary into simple groups
- Homes that want a bold, easy-to-see button layout

How to get started:
- Choose one useful word tied to an action your pet already understands.
- Record the word clearly using your normal voice.
- Place the button near the area where the activity usually happens.
- Press the button immediately before completing the associated action.
- Repeat this consistently during the same routine.
- Allow your pet to investigate and interact voluntarily.
- Add new words gradually rather than placing every button at once.

Suggested first words:
- "Outside"
- "Play"
- "Food"
- "Water"
- "Help"
- "Treat"
Begin with words you can demonstrate clearly and honor consistently. A button labeled “treat” may inspire rapid academic progress, though perhaps not the balanced curriculum you envisioned.

Training notes:
- Progress varies by animal.
- Some pets may interact with the buttons quickly, while others may require weeks or months of regular modeling.
- Not every press will be intentional, and meaning should be interpreted alongside your pet’s behavior and the surrounding context.
- Never force your pet to press a button or punish incorrect, repeated, or accidental use.
- Keep training positive, voluntary, and connected to real experiences.
- Placement and expansion
- Place the HexTiles on a clean, dry, level indoor surface.
- Connect the tiles using their interlocking edges.
- Arrange buttons with enough space for your pet to approach comfortably.
- Group related words together as the layout grows.
- Each HexTile can hold up to six compatible FluentPet buttons.
- Avoid placing the board where it could block doorways, stairs, or busy walking paths.

Battery notes:
- The six buttons arrive with 18 pre-installed batteries.
- Each button uses three LR44/AG13 alkaline batteries.
- Actual battery life depends on recording length, playback frequency, storage, and general use.
- Replace batteries only with the manufacturer-specified type.

Safety notes:
- Supervise your pet during early use and whenever chewing or destructive behavior is possible.
- Do not allow pets to bite, chew, or pull apart the buttons, tiles, stickers, or battery compartments.
- Inspect each component regularly for cracks, loosened pieces, damaged covers, or accessible batteries.
- Stop using any damaged component immediately.
- Keep loose and replacement batteries away from pets and children.
- Suspected battery ingestion requires immediate veterinary attention.
- Use the kit as an enrichment and communication-training tool, not as a replacement for direct supervision, veterinary care, or responding to your pet’s physical and emotional needs.
