How to get started:

- Choose one useful word tied to an action your pet already understands.

- Record the word clearly using your normal voice.

- Place the button near the area where the activity usually happens.

- Press the button immediately before completing the associated action.

- Repeat this consistently during the same routine.

- Allow your pet to investigate and interact voluntarily.

- Add new words gradually rather than placing every button at once.

Begin with words you can demonstrate clearly and honor consistently. A button labeled “treat” may inspire rapid academic progress, though perhaps not the balanced curriculum you envisioned.

 

Training notes:

- Progress varies by animal.

- Some pets may interact with the buttons quickly, while others may require weeks or months of regular modeling.

- Not every press will be intentional, and meaning should be interpreted alongside your pet’s behavior and the surrounding context.

- Never force your pet to press a button or punish incorrect, repeated, or accidental use.

- Keep training positive, voluntary, and connected to real experiences.

- Connect the tiles using their interlocking edges.

- Arrange buttons with enough space for your pet to approach comfortably.

- Group related words together as the layout grows.

- Each HexTile can hold up to six compatible FluentPet buttons.

- Avoid placing the board where it could block doorways, stairs, or busy walking paths.

 

Battery notes:

- The six buttons arrive with 18 pre-installed batteries.

- Each button uses three LR44/AG13 alkaline batteries.

- Actual battery life depends on recording length, playback frequency, storage, and general use.

- Replace batteries only with the manufacturer-specified type.
